1Pe 5:8  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

An old sermon preached by Bro. T. G.  McNeely.

This is a deer hunter. His garments are camouflage.. His weapon is gun and bow. His overwhelming passion is a four legged often allusive creature called a deer. This man has probably paid more for his rifle scope than his wife’s wedding ring. Instead of pictures of his children, his wallet is filled with pictures of him kneeling down next to a buck with a gun laid across its body. He hangs his clothes outside for a few days before he wears them. He doesn’t think that 4:30 in the morning is too early to get up. He’s spent most of his thanksgiving mornings in a tree. He cannot drive anywhere year around without scanning the woods and fields for a sign of his object of obsession. He is obsessed. He is passionate. He is in pursuit of his prey. He is a deer hunter.
