Psalms 106:13-15 KJV  They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:  [14]  But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted God in the desert.  [15]  And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.

Psalm 106:13-15 ESV  But they soon forgot his works; they did not wait for his counsel.  [14] But they had a wanton craving in the wilderness, and put God to the test in the desert;  [15] he gave them what they asked, but sent a wasting disease among them.

Numbers 11:4-6 KJV  And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?  [5]  We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:  [6]  But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

  1. INTRODUCTION  -  THE AWFUL OUTCOME OF SIN
  • A Sad Tale of a Lost Man

Just a few weeks ago when I came home from General Conference in Greenville, NC, I picked up one of the newspapers that Teresa had saved while I was gone.  There it was front-page news.  When I read the story, I have to admit that I was shocked, disgusted, and saddened.  I read the story of a man who once sat on the pews of this church.  Many of you don’t know him because he came several years ago before he finally let his spiritual life disappear into nothing.
